These images were taken in the environs of St Peter Port harbour in the 1800's. The photographers names are listed when known.
The Town Church area showing no Prince Albert statue

In 1863 the Albert Statue was unveiled - this photograph shows a close up view before any building work on the memorial had started.

As the old South Pier has been replaced (1859/1860) with a new one (demolished 1893) and the north return (shown in the previous image)appears to be now or partially joined up (1861-63), the date of the photograph could be between 1862 and early1863.
