A 1928 Holiday in Sark
Shown here are some selected images from three photo albums (one dated 1928) originally belonging to George Sang, a lawyer who visited Sark with his wife, Florence, and their only child, Mary, for a walking holiday. The family lived in Scotland.
George (born March 1875 - died November 1930) was the Honorary Secretary of the Scottish Mountaineering Club, and both he and Florence were keen climbers which can be corroborated by the photographs show here. He often documented his climbs and wrote articles about them.
The captions to the images were made by George Sang and maybe wrong (any corrections needed will be gladly received).
The albums were kindly sent to' Deane Photographic Archives' for scanning and for publishing on the website by Vanessa Innes. George Sang is her maternal great grandfather - at Vanessa's request the original photographic albums are being donated to 'La Societe Sercquaise'.
