Prince Albert Statue and Town Church

This photo shows the area around the Prince Albert Statue at the turn of the 19th century. The iron posts and chain fencing which were in situ before 1914 have yet to be placed around the statue, perhaps made to stop the lounging around as shown in the photograph!

The buildings around the Town Church were demolished in 1914.
