The proclamation of King Edward VII was marked in London on the 23rd January and in Guernsey (Market Square St Peter Port) on January 26th 1901.

His coronation with Queen Alexandra was at Westminster Abbey in London and took place on August 9th 1902. It was planned to be on an earlier date of June 26th but it was delayed due to the King's illness (Abdominal abscess). It was a significant spectacle reflecting the British Empires status at that time. It was also promoted as a meaningful and religious occasion which can be seen in the wording on some of the images.

At the time of writing It is presumed but not verified that the Guernsey processions and festivities that took place during 1902 for this coronation took place in August and not earlier.

Shown in this Photo Gallery are photographs of good sharpness and excellent depth of field which indicates a very small f stop. A reasonable shutter speed to stop movement is also seen. This all suggests very sunny weather as film speeds were not extremely fast in those days.
