Dear Michael Deane, Let me first thank you for indirectly confirming what I had suspected; namely, that my great-great grandfather, T. B. Hutton, was a photographer who lived and worked on the Channel Islands. I have only a few photos from him: one of himself, one of his wife, and--more intriguing--a digital copy of an albumen carte-de-visite of Victor Marie Hugo evidently taken around 1862. I would be most grateful if you could tell me whether any more of his photos/negatives have survived and where I might be able to find out more about his work as a photographer and artist (I have, alas, only one of his sketches). His father, Rev. Hugh Hutton, was a rather prominent figure in the Unitarian reform movement, but it is T.B.'s work as a photographer and artist that interest me. I would of course be quite grateful for any other information you might have on him. Thank you. - S H
