This re-enactment of the 1813 'La Chevauchee de St Michel' took place on the 28th July 1966 to celebrate the 900th anniversary of Guernsey's association with the British Crown.

The original purpose of this procession was for the Court of of Fief St Michel to check all the major roads in Guernsey.

The procession started in the morning at the Vale Church and proceeded around the coast to the Town Church in St Peter Port with the finish at the Castel Church.
